WHAT WE DO
Each year, between October and April, we stage three plays. Open auditions mean all members have a chance to 'tread the boards'. Many members contribute their creative talents by becoming involved in set design and construction, make-up, costume and props, lighting, sound and other areas vital to the staging of a successful production.
'The Players' has a strong reputation within the North West and you are assured of a warm welcome if you want to get involved. Whatever your area of interest, you can contribute to suit your time commitments and enjoy being part of a friendly group.
You may not wish to tread the boards, but you can still enjoy the vitality of being active in the theatre. There are many opportunities to get involved backstage in lighting, sound, set design and building, stage management, costume, make-up and a whole range of other stage craft opportunitiesMembership
Full membership allows you to take part on the stage as an actor including your insurance as a performer. It offers you the opportunity of assisting in a production in areas such as props, make-up, lighting and sound. It also entitles the holder to a free ticket for each of the three plays in the forthcoming season. Members also receive newsletters periodically, advising them of forthcoming productions, murder mystery evenings, play readings and social activities etc.
All memberships run for 12 months from 1st of September.
Full Membership £22.00
Students / Senior Citizens £17.00

WHO WE ARE
In 1936 The Congleton Players Amateur Theatre Club was formed, providing quality entertainment for only 6d per show. Over Eighty years later, the Society prides itself on bringing affordable theatre to the community of Congleton and others in the North West, from thrillers to comedy classics for which Congleton Players have been nominated for a range of awards.
Congleton Players are privileged to be part of the Daneside Theatre Trust community and we use the extensive facilities for our rehearsals, set building and, of course, our performances. We are one of several vibrant and thriving theatre-based groups who use the Daneside Theatre. A committee of 22 members manages the club and maintains the high production standards that have been established over many ears, as well as encouraging participation and community involvement.
